Jarjammed Permission Post!

Okay, so the thing about Hobbes is that he's really just a stuffed tiger! Calvin can see him due to the wonders of an overactive imagination!

So here's my question: Is your character imaginative enough to see Hobbes? Maybe they're just really young, or maybe they're a little bit crazy, but for some reason they may be able to see this child's imaginary friend.

Please respond to this post and say whether you think your character is ~imaginative~ enough to see Hobbes. If they can't, that's okay too!

Effy can see him! At least for now.

Shelly can't, for the most part. This is not only because wow, he must be kind of jaded, but also because his idea of a decent pseudonym is John Doe.

As much fan as wombat/stuffedtiger shenanigans would be, Digger would not be able to see him.

[personal profile] friendlypuellus 2012-09-15 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Jake would I think.

He's a biiiit more mature then his canon counterpart, but only a bit, and still a very silly boy given to daydreaming and the like. Plus his Witch fighting has lead to him being even MORE willing to believe in weird shit- which he didn't exactly have a problem with before XD

Mabel is a CHILD AT HEART

also a CHILD IN LITERAL FACT

so she should have no difficulty, no.

As far as imagination I proffer this as evidence that she is not lacking in that category either

There's basically no way glados is ever going to be able to see hobbes.

dairine, on the other hand, is eleven and a wizard!! she can see him.

Gil cannot see Hobbes.
Archer... ... ...Maybe. I'll say yes for now.

Theo can see Hobbes. He's already exceptionally imaginative and he's exceptionally crazy, so there's really no way he wouldn't.

Klaus can't. He believes in Magic because he uses it but not in what doesn't make any logical sense, and Hobbes wouldn't, to him.

[personal profile] friendlypuellus 2012-09-16 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
If this ever comes up Jake will have full intentions of telling Klaus he's ridiculous.

Usagi totally can see him. She's quite imaginative and has that innocent young-at-heart thing going on.

Human Karkat can't. Not in the least due to how he's DESPERATELY trying to be as grown-up as he can these days.

Madame, sadly, cannot see Hobbes. She's far too jaded.

Bertie... we'll go with yes. He has zero belief in the supernatural in canon, but he's also very imaginative and the game itself has kind of eliminated most of his skepticism. Yes. Okay. If girls can put their hands through pianos, why not giant talking tigers?

as decided in chat, eridan can see hobbes but refuses to admit it because, really, that's just ridiculous, imaginary friends are fakey fake bullshit like magic is.
billy's far too obsessed with logic and precision to ever see hobbes though.

Yuna has kissed too many imaginary people to have any skepticism. {Imaginary people are people too!}

Zhosma...probably can? She's a very imaginative person {Skald}. But if she's in a bad brainspace, she can't see him anymore.

Ienzo's a scientist but you know what he also lives in the same world as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and Goofy and all sorts of other talking animal shenanigans. He wouldn't bat an eye at a talking tiger so he can probably see Hobbes.

EDIT: Also if that doesn't work on the right kind of logic, depending on whether or not one considers Ienzo and Zexion to be the same person he's either eight with eleven years of somebody else's memories or nineteen but eleven of those years were spent in a weird emotionless mental state so. Schrodinger's maturity??

I'm inclined to say that Paula might be able to see him, largely because she's a psychic and has seen way stranger things than talking stuffed tigers anyway aahgsjka so she's learned to suspend any disbelief about anything. But also she's still a kid and ye.

Murai is fairly young and a little crazy and is a pantheist from a setting where the Power Of Belief has a whole lot of oomph, so I'm tentatively going to say she can see Hobbes?

Ammond can't.

Arator doesn't have an especially vivid imagination - I'll say he cannot see Hobbes.

And sorry it took me so long to remember to do this! X_X

Saionji can't see Hobbes and probably things the whole thing is intensely stupid.

Though as Utena is about the passage into adulthood, when that happens, and how people who think they are adults can be way out of their depth, it's possible that if he was forced into a sufficiently childlike state of mind, he might be able to see Hobbes. If the situation would allow~

Riku is close friends with a talking mouse king, so I mean. Talking stuffed tiger is not too much of a stretch from there?
